Thank you to everyone who applied for a 2019-20 HYPE grant and to all HYPE Unicorns who voted. In 2019, HYPE awarded grants to the following organizations:
OLAS (Organización LGBT de Apoyo y Solidaridad) is a community support program for LGBT immigrants from Latin America, with a strong focus on asylum seekers/refugees, that improves the emotional well-being of their participants, to decrease harmful coping skills (such as substance use) in favor of positive coping skills, and to decrease isolation.
OLAS is a first time HYPE grantee. HYPE values OLAS's vision and belief that all people who seek refuge in the U.S. due to homophobia and transphobia deserve access to affordable and effective resources for both community support and personal healing.
Kween Culture Initiative promotes cultural equity for transgender women of color through cultural enrichment, social empowerment and social justice, enriching the most vulnerable of our community’s lives with art, dialogue, fellowship, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
HYPE seeks to grant to innovative organizations like Kween Culture Initiative where our funding will meaningfully impact their ability to grow and change lives.
Queer Crescent Healing provides community, safely, healing arts and justice for the LGBTQIA+ Muslim community, with programs that focus on building resilience, emerging leadership, and reclaiming dignity, place, and power.
Queer Crescent Healing is a first time HYPE grantee. HYPE values Queer Crescent Healing's mission to build futures where LGBTQIA+ Muslims are leading fiercely with love, taking up space, and building possibilities towards our collective liberation.
